Hello to Everyone from Lincoln, Nebraska!
I have finally sucummed to peer pressure and have created a blog for Rob and I. I say "Rob and I" even though I'm pretty sure Rob has absolutely no interest in electronic communication, including myspace, facebook, instant messaging, text messaging and on occasion, even email. Nonthless, I figured it was only fair to add his name to the blog, seeings how he is technically apart of the Hansen family ( :
The move to Nebraska was loooooooong. I was very greatful to my family who offered to drive all of our stuff out in the back of the horse trailer (don't worry, Rob and I mucked it out first), however, my mom and dad could seriously pass as senior citizen drivers. Anyway, after making the 12 hour trip in about 48 hours we finally arrived in Nebraska exahausted. The apartment we had chosen wouldn't have won any sort of fashionable house contest, but it was decent enough... until we woke up the next morning. After the fresh paint smell had time to settle we discovered that the place was saturated with cigarett smoke. Apparently the previous tenants had died of lung cancer, which had made the apartment available. In addition, the lady above our apartment was interested in contracting the disease too, and as a result, our apartment had a sort of grayish haze of delightfully disgusting smoke.
Not quite what we were looking for in an apartment.
We moved the next day. Blech. the stress of moving all of our things twice in the period of about 48 hours was more than enough to make us question the logo on the Nebraska state sign... "the good life".... was not exactly what we were experiencing!
However, now that things have calmed down a big,the upside of our 2 moves is that we are now in an old, but cute little townhouse that is right across the street from the law school. You can't beat location! Now I don't have to ride my bike or drive to campus, I can't just fall out of bed and be there. Which brings me to my next point: why we moved to Nebraska.
I am currently attending law school at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. After careful debate I finally decided that taking a year off of school wouldn't be the smartest idea-it would be too tempting not to go back afterwards! So I decided to take on law school head on. So far I have discovered that law school is not nearly as intense as everyone makes it out to be. There is a bit more reading to do, true, but all in all, I'm not finding it too difficult. (This would be a good time for you to all copy and save that last statement as I'm sure that at some point I will end up completely overwhelmed with school.)
Rob is currently in the process of doing some final interviews with a few advertising companies. He'll most likely make his final decision here in the next week or so. Unlike me, he is happily enjoying every second of "school-free" time that he now has! Rob plans on going back to school for his MBA, but at the moment he is just working. As far as advertising goes, Rob says that experience is just as important as how much school you have. Robs work with the BYU Advertising lab as well as his two internships have paid off. The companies he is interviewing with are VERY impressed with him! Go Rob!
Anyway, that's about all I have for the moment! Hopefully I'll be able to figure out this blogging thing soon so I can update it with pictures and all sorts of other fun stuff!
Cheers!
Julie and Rob

You are brave to post a picture of your closet. I am constantly re-organizing our closet, and I still think it looks terrible!
Congrats on moving, twice!
your move to Nebraska reminds me of the what... 12 hour? drive when we moved you to Provo your freshman year... I can imagine that the drive to Nebraska must have been very painful assuming it was similar but longer to that drive... :)
